Our Team
We’re proud to have an incredible team of dedicated professionals who work hard every day to provide the exceptional care your pet deserves. Trained in pet first aid and CPR, our staff goes above and beyond to ensure every pet is safe, comfortable, and well-cared for during their stay. Passionate about animals and committed to our mission of treating your pets like our own, our team is here to deliver not just care—but peace of mind.

Jody Gochenauer
Owner
Jody is the current owner of Gochenauers, proudly carrying on the legacy passed down by his mother, Pat. With a deep commitment to both the pets in our care and the families we serve, Jody plays an active role in the day-to-day operations and is a familiar face around the facility nearly every day. His strong work ethic, hands-on leadership, and practical problem-solving skills set the tone for our team. Jody places great trust in his staff, empowering them to make thoughtful decisions in his absence—a level of confidence that reflects the strength and reliability of the team he has helped build.

Gail S.
Manager
Gail joined the team in May 2007 and has been an integral part of our success ever since. As manager, she has played a key role in strengthening our team by recognizing individual talents and aligning them with the needs of the business. A natural planner with a knack for strategy, Gail is always thinking a few steps ahead—creating backup plans and helping ensure our day-to-day operations run smoothly. In addition to her leadership at work, Gail is also a devoted mom, constantly balancing the fast pace of life at home and at Gochenauers with grace and determination. Her desk is adorned with photos of her beloved bulldogs and cats, but her knowledge and passion for animals extend well beyond one breed—both dogs and cats alike benefit from her wide-ranging experience and care.

Sam C.
Assistant Manager
Sam joined the team in May 2016 and now serves as our Assistant Manager, a role she has embraced with passion and precision. Sam thrives on structure, organization, and well-run systems. She plays a key role in maintaining and improving our day-to-day operations, helping to develop procedures that keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. With a strong background in animal care that spans everything from reptiles and rodents to dogs and cats, she brings deep insight and confidence to every interaction. Sam has a special place in her heart for pit bulls and bully breeds, but she treats every animal with the same care and enthusiasm she gives her own crew at home: her American Bully, two cats, and four snakes, who keep her just as busy outside of work.

Trudy G.
Reservation Specialist Lead
Trudy joined the team in June of 1992 and has been a cornerstone of our crew ever since. Affectionately known as the “work mom,” Trudy brings warmth, wisdom, and a steady presence to each day. She keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes while spreading positivity to both clients and coworkers alike. With her calm, empathetic approach, Trudy is someone the team looks up to—and her ability to handle any situation with grace is something we all admire. While she adores all of our furry guests, she has a soft spot for German Shorthaired Pointers and English Springer Spaniels, who always seem to win her heart just a little extra.

Asia H.
Supervisor
Asia joined the team in June 2016 and now serves as one of our Supervisors, bringing years of experience and a dependable presence to every corner of the facility. Whether she’s out front assisting clients, supporting the kennel team, or guiding staff through the day’s responsibilities, Asia plays a key role in keeping things running smoothly. Her passion for animals is evident in her attentive care and strong work ethic. While she works with animals of all kinds, Asia has a soft spot for cats—often spending her extra moments in the kitty condos giving our feline guests a little extra love. She’s also a proud cat mom of her own, who bring her joy and keep her grounded outside of work.

Kelsey S.
Supervisor
Kelsey joined the team in February 2021 and quickly became an essential part of our leadership as a Supervisor. With a background in retail and a deep love for dogs, she brings a unique blend of customer service skills and animal care experience to every shift. Always ready to jump in wherever needed, Kelsey is supportive, reliable, and upbeat. Her sense of humor keeps spirits high and her coworkers smiling, even on the busiest days. Kelsey has a special place in her heart for Labradors—especially her chocolate lab, Tucker—and makes sure every Lab that comes through our doors gets a little extra love.

Ally P.
Team Lead
Ally has been a valued member of the team for several years and currently serves as one of our Team Leads. Known for her calm demeanor and kind personality, Ally brings a steady, positive energy to every shift. She’s always ready to lend a helping hand and is someone both staff and pets alike can count on. Ally leads with compassion and dependability, setting a great example for the rest of the team. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and her own pups—but she never tires of seeing the sweet faces that come through our doors each day.

Maddy S.
Supervisor
Maddy joined the team with a background in teaching and quickly stepped into her role as a Team Lead, and then Supervisor, with enthusiasm and confidence. Her strong communication skills and social nature make her a natural leader, and she’s always eager to jump in wherever help is needed. Though new to the pet care world when she started, Maddy embraced the role wholeheartedly—gaining experience, building trust, and taking on more responsibility with ease. She has a genuine love for all of the pets in our care and just as much joy in connecting with their families. Her energy, positivity, and reliability make her a key part of our team.
